Understanding the Dashboard
The Dashboard is your home base in OntarioLandlord. It gives you a quick overview of your portfolio and highlights items needing attention.
Dashboard Sections
1. KPI Cards (Top Row)
At the top of your dashboard, you'll see key metrics:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Units | Number of rental units you manage |
| Active Leases | Leases currently in "active" status |
| Units in Arrears | Units with outstanding rent |
| Total Arrears | Combined amount owed across all leases |
2. Welcome Banner
New users see a welcome banner with:
- Quick action buttons
- Progress through onboarding
- Tips for getting started
You can dismiss this after completing setup.
3. Recent Activity
Shows your latest actions:
- Payments recorded
- Notices generated
- Maintenance tickets created
- Expenses logged
4. Upcoming Rent
Lists rent payments due in the next 7 days:
- Tenant name
- Property/unit
- Amount due
- Due date
5. Maintenance Summary
Quick stats on maintenance tickets:
- Open tickets
- In progress
- Resolved this month
6. Financial Overview
Year-to-date summary:
- Total income (rent payments)
- Total expenses
- Net Operating Income (NOI)
Quick Actions
From the dashboard, you can quickly:
- Add Property - Create a new property
- Add Tenant - Add a new tenant
- Record Payment - Log a rent payment
- Generate Notice - Create an LTB notice
- Connect Bank - Set up Plaid integration
Navigation
Use the sidebar to navigate to:
- Dashboard - You are here
- Properties - Manage properties and units

- Leases - Manage lease agreements
- Payments - Payment history and suggestions
- Notices - Generate and view notices
- Maintenance - Track maintenance requests
