OntarioLandlord keeps its rules engine updated with the latest Ontario regulations and LTB guidelines.

What Gets Updated​

Annual Rent Guideline​

Each year, Ontario announces the rent increase guideline:

Notice Period Requirements​

If the RTA changes notice requirements:

  • System updates immediately
  • Existing notices unaffected
  • New notices use current rules

LTB Procedures​

When LTB changes procedures:

  • Forms updated
  • Documentation updated
  • AI assistant retrained

How You're Notified​

In-App Notifications​

When guidelines change:

  1. Notification in dashboard
  2. Explanation of what changed
  3. Link to details

Announcement Bar​

Major changes appear in the announcement bar at the top of the app.

Email (Optional)​

Opt in to receive:

  • Guideline change announcements
  • Feature updates
  • Important compliance changes

Impact on Your Leases​

Active N1 Notices​

If guideline changes after you've served an N1:

  • Your notice uses the guideline at time of service
  • No need to re-serve
  • Valid as served

Future N1 Notices​

New N1 notices use the current guideline at time of generation.

Calculations​

All calculations update automatically:

  • Dashboard metrics use current rules
  • Reports use applicable rules per date
  • Historical data preserved accurately

  3. See effective dates

In Documentation​

This documentation is updated with current guidelines.
