Financial reports

OntarioLandlord provides financial reporting through the Financials dashboard and the dedicated Reports section. Together, these give you a complete picture of your rental income, expenses, and portfolio performance.

Financials dashboard

Navigate to Financials in the sidebar for an overview:

  • Summary cards — Total income, expenses, and net position
  • Income and expense tracking — Monthly breakdown by category
  • Rent ledger — Payment-by-payment tracking with arrears detection
  • Rent invoices — Auto-generated invoices with send and download
  • Manual matching — Reconcile bank transactions to tenants

Dedicated reports

Navigate to Reports in the sidebar for 6 detailed report types:

Arrears AgingOutstanding balances by age (30, 60, 90+ days)
Income StatementMonthly revenue, expenses, and net income

Key metrics

Net Operating Income (NOI)

The most important metric:

  • Income minus operating expenses
  • Excludes mortgage payments
  • Measures property performance independently

Occupancy rate

Percentage of units occupied. Tracked per property and across your portfolio.

Arrears rate

Outstanding rent as a percentage of expected rent. Lower is better.

Exporting

All financial data and reports can be exported:

  • PDF — Professional formatting for sharing with accountants or partners
  • CSV — Raw data for spreadsheet analysis or import to other tools

Tax reporting

For CRA tax filing, use the T776 tax report which maps income and expenses to T776 line items, including CCA Area A support.
