AI assistant

The AI assistant is a chat-based helper built into OntarioLandlord. It answers questions about Ontario's Residential Tenancies Act, LTB procedures, and how to use the platform.

What the assistant can help with​

  • LTB rules — Notice requirements, timelines, and procedures
  • Notice guidance — Which notice type to use for your situation
  • RTA questions — Rent increase rules, tenant rights, landlord obligations
  • Platform help — How to use specific features in OntarioLandlord
  • Compliance checks — Whether your planned action follows Ontario regulations

Using the assistant​

  1. Navigate to AI Assistant in the sidebar
  2. Type your question in the chat input
  3. The assistant responds with relevant guidance

The assistant has access to your account data, so it can reference your specific properties, leases, and tenants when answering questions.

Example questions​

  • "Can I increase rent on unit 2B? The last increase was 8 months ago."
  • "My tenant hasn't paid rent in 3 months. What are my options?"
  • "What's the difference between an N4 and an N5 notice?"
  • "How do I prepare for an LTB hearing?"
